Gerald Souder is a resident of Reynoldstown and was nominated by APAB to serve on the ACRB to represent NPUs M-R. The Atlanta City Council confirmed his nomination in 2013 for a three year term. After serving in the Army Security Agency, he was hired by AT&T Long Lines where he became an advocate for his fellow workers through his leadership in Communications Workers of America (CWA) Local 4351 in Cincinnati Ohio. He served in a variety of elected positions including President representing members at AT&T and Avaya. This was followed by his appointment to the position of CWA Staff Representative working for the national Union in Washington, DC where he negotiated and administered contracts with AT&T, Lucent and Avaya.
He subsequently relocated to Florida and eventually Atlanta where he continues his work with CWA negotiating private and public sector collective bargaining agreements, and representing members at the highest level of the grievance process including arbitration hearings. Currently he works in the CWA regional office in Decatur Georgia. In addition to his work as CWA Staff Representative, he was elected and serves as President of the CWA Staff Union negotiating and administering the collective bargaining agreement for all staff working for CWA nationwide.
While living Silver Spring, Maryland, he was active in American Legion Post 41 serving in a variety of positions, including Commander and was awarded a lifetime membership in recognition of his service. He is a member of the Reynoldstown Civic Improvement League and the Fulton County Democratic Party. He is the proud father of three grown children and 11 grandchildren.
