Judy Walker

Judy Walker was nominated to serve on the Atlanta Citizen Review Board (ARCB) by the Atlanta Business League.  She received City Council confirmation November 18, 2024, to serve for a term of three (3) years.

Judy Walker was raised in New York City and holds a B.S. in Urban Planning from Georgia State University, where she graduated in December 1978. She began her law enforcement career in September 1975 with the City of Roswell, GA, and was later recruited to the Fulton County Police Department in April 1976. Notably, she was the first African American female police officer in the department, serving until October 1981.

With over 40 years of progressive professional and community experience, Judy specializes in planning, organizing, and coordinating programs to address social challenges within the community. She has extensive expertise in networking, effective communication, and developing marketing strategies for both professional and community-oriented initiatives.

Judy currently works as an Insurance Professional at Walker Financial, where she assists individuals, businesses, and organizations in achieving financial security through tailored financial plans, investment strategies, and insurance solutions.

In addition to her professional achievements, Judy is a certified police officer (Georgia POST) and a licensed insurance professional across all lines in Georgia. She has served as Vice President of the League of Women Voters in Atlanta, further exemplifying her commitment to civic engagement and community leadership.
